This device is superb!!

Sound and distortion are close to perfect. The Topping Tune EQ is amazing and sounds as great as can be! Easy to handle and to set your favorite settings.

The Remote could be a bit more solid and closer to the device housing quality, which is very solid, but it serves it's purpose and is more convenient than most professional Volume Control devices.

The power cord could be about 50cm longer and the VU Meter seems to react a bit slow/lag to the COAX Input. It looks beautiful though and the lag can probably be updated via software.

It would be nice to find different VU Meter options in the future. Maybe an example of an older Marantz type VU with flourescent pointer. Color coding is quite perfect already.

All in all, you will probably not find a better measuring and sounding device on the market at the moment, that is capable of driving 99,00% of Headphones with such low distortion, great global EQ and easy handling. Easily beats out offerings from i.e. RME and others.

It’s way more convenient and most of all accurate to monitor audio engineering through Topping Tune than Sonarworks for Example!

I'm really enjoying the DX5 II. It's pretty straightforward to setup and get it up and pumping tunes to your headphones right away. It gets hotter than I would have expected for a HP amp. So make sure you power down with the remote, not the switch (loss of memory settings). Having it connected to USB with the Topping app lets you edit the PEQ. The basics are easy to figure out, but anything past that and it is trial and error. There are no instructions for advanced features.
Sound wise, I'm pretty happy, but on PCM 1 it is missing some sparkle. Zero noise, and it seems to have good dynamics.

A device that gives a sense of solidity and professionalism, listening to it then you can only confirm this feeling.

With the firmware bugs sorted out, the dac/amp is perfect. Nice fft/vu display with clean menu UI, plenty power, remote and bluetooth. Upgrading firmware was very straightforward too. Runs a bit warm, but only very slightly. Silver finish is sort of sandblasted and slippery.

Something to possibly consider is the silver finish is resistant to fingerprints. From an online review, black/white might be more susceptible to fingerprint smudging.
